Sangmi Cha

Sangmi Cha is an Asia Equities Reporter for Bloomberg in Hong Kong. She covers a multitude of companies from Greater China and other countries, the impact of geopolitics on markets, and wider investment strategies across sectors. Prior to joining the Hong Kong bureau, she worked for Bloomberg in South Korea covering politics and economy, and at Reuters before that. She also served as a host of Arirang TV's "The Point: World Affairs" while based in Seoul, and as a professional translator in Bulgaria.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from our Jackson School at the University of Washington in Seattle, as well as a Master's Degree in Policy Studies from Seoul National University in South Korea.

In her free time she enjoys traveling with her family, mastering pilates, and discovering new restaurants around town.
