Rostin Behnam

Rostin Behnam is a Distinguished Fellow at the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy, within Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. Behnam previously served as the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission after serving as both acting Chairman and Commissioner from 2017 through 2025. Prior to his CFTC service, Behnam served as senior counsel to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan. He started his career on a proprietary equities trading desk, practiced law in New York City and within the Bureau of Securities in the state of New Jersey’s Office of Attorney General.
