Jay Madia

Jay Madia is an insurance investment management executive with over 25 years of experience spanning private credit, private equity, public markets, and real estate. From 2016 to 2025, he served as Head of Risk Assets at Bermuda-based AXIS Capital, where he played a key role in building the firm’s alternative investment portfolio and provided executive leadership in strategic initiatives, including reinsurance sidecars.

Prior to AXIS, Jay was Deputy CIO at PartnerRe Ltd., which he joined in 2008. Over his tenure, he held several senior roles, including Head of Fixed Income, Head of Strategic Investments, member of the Asset Allocation Committee, and participant in the firm’s Senior Management Group.
Before transitioning to the insurance industry, Jay held positions at JPMorgan and Forest Investment Management, and began his career in M&A at Morgan Stanley. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Business School.
