Ileana Pirozzi

Ileana is the Head of Healthcare Ventures at Lingotto Innovation, multi-stage private/public investment platform of Lingotto Investment Management. Prior to joining Lingotto, Ileana started the healthcare and life sciences investment practice at Exor Ventures, where she was a Partner and Head of Healthcare, closing 15+ private investments.

Before becoming an investor, Ileana trained as a medical researcher, scientist and operator with roles at OpenAI, Perkin Elmer, NASA, venture funds and early-stage startups. Ileana earned her MS and PhD in Medical Engineering and Cardiothoracic Surgery from Stanford University, where she was a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and pursued applied research in medical robotics, cardiovascular engineering and artificial muscles. Originally from Italy, Ileana became a UWC scholar at age 15 and attended the United World College in Maastricht and then earned her BSc. from Brown University in Bioengineering.

Ileana is an author on 10+ scientific publications, an inventor of 10+ US patents and patent applications, and is also a recipient of the Italian Excellence Award, a Davis Scholar and the Valedictorian of her class at Brown University.
