David Scopelliti

David is a global investment leader and business executive specializing in private markets investments. David also brings substantial public and private board experience along with private-equity operating experience with a focus on performance improvement, audit, governance, and compensation matters.
Currently, David is Global Head of Private Equity, Private Debt, Secondaries and Co-Investment for Mercer’s investment platform.

Prior, David served as an Operating Partner to a private equity firm successfully establishing a platform business in the transportation sector and remains an active board member. Previously, David was appointed as Chief Executive Officer & CIO of Alcentra Capital Corp. (NASDAQ: "ABDC") and successfully led it through a period of corporate renewal which led to its successful sale. Prior, David was a partner at Garmark Partners where he invested in private debt, control and non-control private equity in U.S. middle-market companies. He served on multiple private company boards and led initiatives to enhance operating performance across various portfolio companies.

Earlier in his career, he was appointed by the State Treasurer to restructure and rebuild the State of Connecticut’s $40+ billion pension fund’s private markets. Prior to that, David built and led ING Capital’s private debt and equity co-investment business, investing in both private equity backed and independent companies executing buy-and-build strategies across various industries.

Beyond his professional roles, David has contributed to the broader investment community as Vice Chairman of the Institutional Limited Partners Association. David is also a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and has served on the boards of multiple private equity backed and independent companies as well as charitable boards. Mr. Scopelliti earned his BBA in Finance and Accounting from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.
