Alan Synnott

Alan Synnott is a Partner and Global Head of Real Assets Investment at Mercer based in Dublin. He joined Mercer in 2025.

Mr. Synnott leads a global team of Infrastructure and Real Estate asset class experts who use their market insight, access, and sourcing relationships to build customized portfolios and deliver investment performance for Mercer’s global client base.

Mr. Synnott has been in the financial services industry since 1995, working in private markets since 1998, in Infrastructure investment since 2003 and in Real Assets, including Real Estate since 2016.

Previously, Mr. Synnott worked at BlackRock, where he was a member of the Real Assets executive team and served as the Global Head of Product Strategy & Research. Mr. Synnott played a central role in founding and growing the Infrastructure platform in 2010 and its Real Assets platform in 2016. BlackRock Real Assets managed $85bn in client assets across a range of investment strategies.

Mr. Synnott holds a Bachelors in Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Business Studies degree from University College Dublin.
